2010 Proposal for Northwest and South Valleys Library Galleries
Prepared for: Sierra Arts Foundation
Prepared by:  Beth Alice Rubenstein, Visual Artist

A Tale of Two Cities: The Biggest Little City in the World & Carmel-by-the-Sea

Objective:  To paint a portrait of my two lives, one in Reno, and the other in Carmel-by-the-Sea where I have been traveling between two studios since 2007.   My still lifes, landscapes and poster-style paintings are sometimes humorous observations of both locales. The quaint seaside village of Carmel differs from Reno’s big city atmosphere yet both share many wonderful folksy traits.  Enjoy my two cities!

Paintings intentionally weathered to depict the ageless, timeless & rugged allure of the two cities.

Frames are rustic & worn to complement paintings

Post-cards for sale  (proceeds to Sierra Arts and/or library)
